In my last blog I outlined some of the factors that contribute to the high cost of Health Care.  I listed the cost of Medical Malpractice Insurance as one factor.  President Obama, in his State of the Union Address, did the same when he mentioned the drain on our health care system caused by frivolous law suits.  Hey, maybe he read my blog.  Ok, back to reality.  Make no mistake, the cost of these suits (and yes some of these suits do have merit) is a significant  reason for the high cost of our health care.  Just ask your Doctor, he or she would tell you that their Medical Malpractice Ins. premium nearly equals the cost of all of thier other practice’s cost of doing business.  Guess who ultimately pays for this. We do!

I promised a Challenge to our Law Makers. Here it is!

When you point your finger at the causes of the problem take a look at Your Hand, 3 of your fingers are pointing back at You.  You, as a law maker create our laws.  You as a lawyer also stand to profit from these laws.  Law is an honorable profession. You, as an Honorable Law Maker, can not possibly address lowering the cost of Our Health Care system and still ignore a major contributor to that cost.

Can you really cast a bill that will bring sanity to our Health Care System with out addressing the cost of law suits?  You, are Honorable People. Do the Honorable thing.
